How many bricks does it take to build a power station?

This September we had fantastic day out as a team to Battersea Power Station which truly indulged our passion for architecture. Decommissioned in 1983 and almost immediately being awarded a Grade II listed status this magnificent landmark and its subsequent development is a must see. After walking around the power station and marvelling at its breath taking structure and beautiful Art Deco detail we ventured to Lift 109. Hidden inside one of the iconic chimneys is a glass elevator that takes you up to 109 metres (yes just like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) where you are treated to a stunning 360 degree view of London's skyline. We then enjoyed a fabulous lunch at a riverside Italian restaurant before we took a boat ride along the Thames back up to The Embankment, which again provided a very different view of London and its amazing and diverse architecture...…. oh and the answer to the question...…6million!
