Our involvement with this mixed-use development covered planning, detailed construction drawings and building regulations, through to project monitoring. Adhering to NHBC Standards and meeting the quality standards set by Secured by Design were also essential.

The building provides 134 contemporary apartments over seven floors with a mix of studio and one or two bed layouts. Of these, 40 are ‘affordable’ apartments designed to the Housing Corporation Scheme Development Standards. Beneath these are two floors of retail and commercial space covering 2,100m2 and basement parking for 110 cars.

A key client requirement was strict cost control. Tasked with making the designs work we re-planned the accommodation to maximise the space and to value engineer savings of £1 million to keep the project on track and commercially viable.
